Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 1225

1225. In short, what the nature [of angelic language] is cannot be expressed, and if it is expressed, an earthly human can have no idea of it. In every sense of a word, or of words, there are things in unlimited number that angels grasp, while an earthly human or a spirit grasps nothing but bodily and earthly elements.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 1225

1225. In short, the quality of angelic speech cannot be expressed, and even if it were expressed man could grasp no idea of it. In every meaning of a word or expression there are indefinite things which the angels apprehend, while a man or spirit apprehends nothing but what is corporeal and merely natural.
