Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 1238

1238. There are those, however, who due to self-love do not care about dying so that they may be famous after their bodily life. And at the same time they have no concern for things of the world. Here there is a different reason, with those who want to be hailed as heroes - for then they hope to die. 1748, 8 March.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 1238

1238. With those, however, who from the love of self have no care for death in order that they may be celebrated after their bodily life, and who at the same time care nothing about worldly things, there is a different cause, like those who want to be hailed as heroes, for as such they desire to die. 1748, Mar. 8.

Experientiae Spirituales 1238 (original Latin 1748-1764)

1238. Qui autem nihil curant mortem, ex amore sui, ut famigerati sint 1

post vitam corporis, et qui simul tunc mundana nihil curent, [in iis] 2

alia causa est, ut qui volunt heroes salutari, nam mori sic cupiunt. 1748, 8 Martius.
