1333. About those who love white garments

Among the spirits there are many who love white clothing, and indeed, with such intense desire that they aroused in me a kind of longing to buy white clothing, and this over a period of several weeks. This means they are especially those who imagine that they deserve heaven by their own righteousness. These are driven by that desire.

1333. CONCERNING THOSE WHO LOVE WHITE GARMENTS

Amongst spirits there are many who love white garments, and indeed with such eagerness that they have incited in me some desire to buy such garments, and this for many weeks. By this is signified that these spirits especially think they merit heaven by their own righteousness; they are actuated by such desire.

Sunt inter spiritus plures, qui amant indusia alba, et quidem tanta cupidine, ut me incitaverint cupidine quadam, et hoc per plures septimanas, emendi indusia, quo significatur, quod sint ii imprimis qui mereri suamet justitia coelum putant, ii tali cupidine aguntur.
