Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 1477

1477. But it should be pointed out that the ideas of these matters are more complete for one person than for another, depending on their knowledge of truths. For to the degree that deeper knowledge grows, to that extent also do the ideas, as may be obvious to everyone. For example, in the matter of what belief is: as a whole it embraces everything both heavenly and spiritual, so that the more anyone has of deeper knowledge of faith, the richer one's mental picture is.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 1477

1477. But it is to be observed that the ideas of such things are fuller with one than with another, according to his cognitions of truths, for the more the cognitions increase, the more do the ideas also. This can be manifest to everyone. Take faith, for example: in its complex it contains all things both celestial and spiritual; thus the more cognitions any one has of the many things pertaining to faith, the fuller will be his idea of it.
