Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 1479

1479. But angels are more receptive than can ever be expressed. In a single mental image, they comprehend a multitude of matters inexpressible by words, doing so both in whole mental images and in those following one after another. The ideas of man in comparison to those of an angel are like the light of a candle to that of the sun.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 1479

1479. The angels, moreover, are more susceptible to such things than can ever be expressed, for in one idea they comprehend very many things not expressible in words, both in things simultaneous and successive. The ideas of a man in respect to those of an angel are like the light of a candle to that of the sun.

Experientiae Spirituales 1479 (original Latin 1748-1764)

1479. Angeli vero tam susceptibiles 1

sunt, ut nusquam exprimi possit, nam in una idea, perplurima non expressibilia vocibus comprehendunt, ita in simultaneis et successivis; ideae hominis respectu angeli, est sicut lumen candelae ad solare.
