Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 2923

2923. All evils, even those seeming to a person as accidental, are from evil spirits

I bumped my foot, almost to the point of stumbling and hurting myself, and I spoke with spirits, saying that they were the cause, and that this case is similar to that of unclean spirits noticing filth not seen by me, and such things being their objects even though I do not see them [2860]. So it is also with falls and other misfortunes that seem to be misfortunes, or accidents. 1748, 25 Aug.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 2923

2923. THAT ALL EVILS, EVEN SUCH AS APPEAR TO MAN AS ACCIDENTS [PROCEED] FROM EVIL SPIRITS.

I stumbled my foot, so as nearly to fall down, or get hurt. I spoke with spirits, and said that they are the cause [thereof], and that the case is similar [to what happens] when unclean spirits notice filth not seen by me, and that [such things] are their objects, although I do not see them; thus it is also with falls and other misfortunes, which seem misfortunes, or accidents. - 1748, August 24.

Experientiae Spirituales 2923 (original Latin 1748-1764)

Aug.
