How they come forth it was also granted me to discern from the symbolic displays of the lower world, the world of spirits, namely, that the Lord flows into their ideas consisting of pictured thought. And because they are in the Grand Man, thus in heaven, and it flows in from the Lord, such displays of unlimited beauty, varying to eternity, cannot but come forth, and this in clear daylight and in fullest life, so that the light of the eye and its life in the body cannot be compared to it. 1748, 8 Sept.

How they exist, this also was given to perceive, from representations [belonging] to the inferior world or world of spirits: to wit, that the Lord inflows through heaven into their imaginative and cogitative ideas, and inasmuch as they are in the Grand Man, thus in heaven, and the Lord inflows, there cannot but exist such indefinite beautiful representations, with variety to eternity, and this in clear light, and in the fullest life.
