Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 3192

3192. Perverse loves still have their origin from true ones

About these I spoke with spirits, such as perverse marital love, adulteries, whoredoms, these cannot exist but from true marriage love, but which falls into the perverse, and becomes such. Even the love toward children, when it is in the perverse, is likewise on account of evil motives. Then there are those who seek immortality, and do not care for life, for the sake of fame, and many other cases. 1748, 19 Sept.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 3192

3192. THAT YET PERVERTED LOVES DERIVE THEIR ORIGIN FROM TRUE LOVE.

I spoke concerning these, with spirits [saying] to wit, that perverted conjugial, adulterous [and] meretricious loves cannot exist, except from true conjugial love, but that it falls into the perverted, and becomes so: and it is similar with love towards children, when it is in the perverse, it is directed [propter] to evil ends. Also [it is similar with those] who seek immortality and do not care for life, because of fame [reputation] and [so with] very many other things. - 1748, September 19.

Experientiae Spirituales 3192 (original Latin 1748-1764)

3192. Quod amores perversi originem usque ducant a veris

De his cum spiritibus loquutus, sicut amor conjugialis perversus, adulteria 1

, meretricatus, non existere possunt nisi a vero amore conjugiali, sed qui incidit in perversos, et ita fit, etiam amor erga liberos similiter, dum est in perversis est propter fines malos: tum qui quaerunt immortalitatem nec curant vitam famae causa, et perplura alia. 1748, 19 Sept.;
