3975. On the love of marriage
In a state halfway between waking and sleeping, I clearly realized that the joys and happiness from marriage love in the other life are even as to their most general or universal kinds, beyond number. This I saw so clearly that I could never doubt it. And since the most general or universal kinds of happiness from marriage love are beyond number in the other life, then how about the species of each kind, which are countless, and the particulars of each species, and so on! 1748, 14 Nov.
3975. CONCERNING THE LOVE OF MARRIAGE.
In a state intermediate between waking and sleeping I manifestly perceived that the joys and felicities flowing from conjugial love in the other life are, as to its most general or universal properties, indefinite or innumerable which was so manifestly perceived that I could by no possibility doubt of it; and as the most general or universal kinds [genera] of happiness arising from conjugial love in the other life are thus indefinite, what shall be said of the species which are indefinite under each genus, and what of the particulars belong to each species, and so on? - 1748, November 14.

In statu inter vigiliam et somnum medio, percepi manifeste, quod gaudia et felicitates ex amore conjugiali in altera vita, sint quoad ejus communissima, seu genera universalia, indefinita, quod perceptum ita manifeste, ut nusquam possim de eo dubitare; et cum communissima seu genera universalia felicitatis ex amore conjugiali, sint indefinita in altera vita, quid non species, quae indefinitae sunt cujusvis generis, et quid non particularia cujusvis speciei ! et sic porro. 1748, 14 Nov.
