The face of a monkey appeared to me, and it was said that they are the kind who attach themselves to all things belonging to others in order to trick them. In the other life such spirits can impersonate anyone, and display not only a mental image of the person but images of speaking, and others, and anything the person may cherish. 1748, 11 Dec.
4126. CONCERNING THE FACE OF A MONKEY.
There appeared to me the face of a monkey, and it was said that those are of such a quality who apply to themselves what belongs to others, in order to deceive them. In the other life spirits can impersonate anyone, and present not only the idea of the man, but also images or representatives of his speech and other things, as also whatever anyone may be inclined to favor. - 1748, December 11.
