Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 4667

4667. The case is different with those who have an abstract idea. They have not had focused ideas, but such as have struck their eye, and in the meantime they have had a general idea, but not one directed toward, that is to say, focused on certain things, but variously to those things that struck their eye.

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 4667

4667. It is otherwise with those who are in an abstract idea, and who did not have determinate ideas except such as were obvious to the eyes, and between-whiles were in a general but not a regular idea, or one determined to certainties, but [an idea determined] variously to those obvious things.

Experientiae Spirituales 4667 (original Latin 1748-1764)

4667. Aliter illi qui in idea abstracta sunt, qui non determinatas ideas habuerunt, sed tales quae obviae oculis fuerunt, ac interea in communi sed non regulari seu determinata ad certas, verum ad obvias illas varie.
