When the aura of hypocrites increased, the gang of these sirens was then cast down into hell, which took place in the following manner: others from various places came and met up with them and took some of them into their group and in this way divided them lest they further act jointly, because when they act jointly, they prevail, but when they act individually, they are powerless.
5130. When the hypocritical sphere ascended, then that crew of sirens was cast down into hell, which so happened, in order that others, from various places, might come in contact with them: and those others took to themselves some of the sirens, and thus divided them, so that they might no longer act in concert; for when they act in concert they are effective, but when dissociated they have no power.
5130. Cum sphaera hypocritica ascendebat, tunc turba sirenum illa dejecta est in infernum; quod factum ita, quod in occursum venirent alii ex variis locis, et assumebant ex illis ad se, et sic dividebant illas, ne in societate amplius agerent, nam cum in societate agunt, valent, at cum dissociatae, non vim habent.
