5607. How the angels derive their wisdom from the Word, and about its inflow
I have been informed from heaven that the angels have wisdom from the Word but that they give no attention at all to the things that are in the literal sense nor to the things that are in the thought of people on earth at the time these are reading, but that they give their attention to the Word's inward elements, [which come to them] from people on earth. I was informed therefore how it is with this.
5607. HOW THE ANGELS HAVE THEIR WISDOM FROM THE WORD, AND ABOUT INFLUX AT THE TIME.
I have been instructed from heaven, that the angels are in wisdom from the Word, but that they pay no attention whatever to those things which are in the sense of the letter, nor to those things which are in the thought of a man at the time when he reads it, but to the interiors of the Word from the man. Wherefore, I was instructed how this matter is circumstanced.
5607. Quomodo angeli ex Verbo habent suam sapientiam, et de influxu suo
Instructus sum e coelo, quod angeli in sapientia sint ex Verbo, sed quod prorsus non attendant ad illa quae in sensu literae, nec ad illa quae in cogitatione hominis tunc cum legit, sed ad interiora Verbi, ex homine, quare instructus sum quomodo hoc se habeat.
