715. About the rejection of evil spirits who try to slip into heaven by craft and deceit
Sometimes evil spirits are permitted to do this, as well as those called wolves, who, earlier, carried off some who fear them for the reason then given [Luke 16:26], because it is an impossible thing; and if it should be permitted, then they would at once be rejected as something entirely contrary, like scum.
715. CONCERNING THE REJECTION OF EVIL SPIRITS WHO STRIVE BY ARTIFICE AND DECEIT TO INSINUATE THEMSELVES INTO HEAVEN
Evil spirits and those who are called wolves, namely, those who had previously carried away the spirits who were afraid of them for the reason stated above [n. xvi 26 ], because [to pass from the one to the other] is an impossibility, and even if this were permitted, they would at once be rejected as something altogether contrary, like scum.
induunt se quasi vestitu candido, sed internoscuntur statim ab angelis, quia externum est, quasi fucatum, nihil vivum, quare impossibile est ut recipi queant in aliquam societatem, nam in coelum recipi est in societates coelestes, hoc nunc est, quod hiatus inter infernum et coelum [Luc. XVI: 26], quia impossibilitas est, et si permissum foret id, tunc rejicerentur illico sic prorsus contrarium, sicut spuma;
