35. Verses 7, 8. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they who pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall wail over him. Even so, Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. "Behold, he cometh with clouds," signifies, that the Lord is about to reveal himself in the Word by means of the internal sense; "And every eye shall see him," signifies, that all who are in truths from good will acknowledge Him; "And they who pierced him," signifies, that they also will see Him who are in falsities from evil; "And all the tribes of the earth shall wail over him," signifies, that the falsities of the church will be in opposition; "Even so, Amen," signifies, Divine confirmation, that it will so come to pass.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end," signifies, that He rules all things from primaries by means of ultimates, and therefore all things of heaven to eternity; "Saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come," signifies, from Him who is the All in all of heaven and of the church, from eternity to eternity, and Jehovah; "the Almighty," signifies, from Himself.

8. "I am the Alpha and the Omega, Beginning and End," signifies that He governs all things from firsts through ultimates, and thus all things of heaven to eternity (n. 41); "saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come," signifies from Him who is the All in all things of heaven and of the church from eternity to eternity, and Jehovah (n. 42); "the Almighty," signifies from Himself (n. 43).
"Ecce venit cum nubibus, et videbit Ipsum omnis oculus, et qui Ipsum transfixerunt; et plangent super Ipsum omnes tribus terrae; etiam, amen. Ego sum Alpha et Omega, Principium et Finis, dicit Dominus, qui est et qui fuit et qui venturus, qui omnipotens."
7. "Ecce venit eum nubibus", significat quod Dominus Se revelaturus in Verbo per sensum internum (n. 36); "et videbit Ipsum omnis oculus", significat quod agnituri omnes qui in veris ex bono sunt (n. 37); "et qui Ipsum transfixerunt", significat quod etiam visuri illi qui in falsis ex malo (n. 38); "et plangent super Ipsum omnes tribus terrae", significat quod falsa ecclesiae repugnatura (n. 39); "etiam, amen", significat confirmationem Divinam quod ita futurum (n. 40).
8. "Ego sum Alpha et Omega, Principium et Finis", significat quod omnia regat ex primis per ultima, et sic omnia caeli in aeternum (n. 41); "dicit Dominus, qui est et qui fuit et qui venturus", significat ab Ipso quibus", omne in omnibus caeli et ecclesiae ab aeterno in aeternum, et Jehovah (n. 42); "qui omnipotens", significat ex Se (n. 43).
