Spiritual Experiences (Odhner and Nemitz translation 1998) 1366

1366. About the holy spirit

Every person who is consciously led by some spirit, and even more, with whom a spirit speaks, supposes it to be the holy spirit. All fanatics think this, when yet they are unclean spirits whom they are calling the holy spirit, even adoring and worshipping as such. Those spirits love this, and think themselves thus to be the holy spirit, as you may see described elsewhere [4, 148 1:3, 423].

Spiritual Experiences (Buss translation 1902) 1366

1366. CONCERNING THE HOLY SPIRIT

Every man who is sensibly moved by some spirit, especially if the spirit speaks to him, supposes that it is the Holy Spirit; all enthusiastics so suppose. Nevertheless those whom they then call the Holy Spirit and even adore and worship are unclean spirits who love this, and so suppose that they are the Holy Spirit, as you may see elsewhere [nos. 4, 148 1/2, 423].
