1500. What the punishment of horror of darkness accomplishes
When they have been thus let into the dark hole [1492 1/2-1493], and afterwards come into the daylight, then as soon as they want revenge, that horror occurs to them, and so they desist. It is horror, therefore, that answers to those [evils of revenge], while fright and fear respond to other evils. They are frightened away by them. 1748, 18 March.
1500. WHAT THE PUNISHMENT OF THE HORROR OF DARKNESS EFFECTS
When spirits have thus been let into that darksome opening [see n. 1493, and afterwards come into daylight, then as soon as they desire revenge that horror occurs to them, and so they desist. Wherefore it is this horror which answers to such states, when the terror and fear of other evils are removed from them. 1748, Mar. 18.
1500. Quid poena horroris tenebrarum efficiat
1748, 18 Martius.
