2517. No one should wish to come higher into heaven than the Lord sees fit
You may see what was said above [2513], that when they are good or have faith, all are allotted their own places, and each one in that place experiences the highest joy; and if they are drawn by fantasy to come into a higher heaven, they thereby lose all their joy. For those who had been in inward regions, and were not yet disposed to receive that joy, declared that they wanted to return into their own heaven.
2517. THAT NO ONE DESIRES TO ENTER A HIGHER HEAVEN THAN THE LORD THINKS PROPER.
See what was before said, that the good, or those who are on faith, all obtain their places, and everyone enjoys in his place the highest joy; and that if by phantasy they are drawn [induced] to come into a higher heaven, they thus destroy all their joy; for those who have been in interiors [and are] not yet formed to receive that joy, have said that they wished to return to their own heaven.
