3019. Certain spirits greatly desire to be people on earth
All spirits in general when they are with a person do not know but that they are people on earth. But there are others who want to be the person and entirely occupy his or her body, and then regard the person they are with as having no body.
Such ones have often been with me and attempted much, some less, who were nevertheless touched with shame, for they imagine they see their faces in the mirror [2106, 2205], among other things. In this way spirits are moved away from that desire. 1748, 1 Sept.
3019. THAT SPIRITS EXCEEDINGLY DESIRE TO BE MEN.
In general, all spirits, when with man, do not know other than that they are men. But there are others who desire to be man, and thus to wholly occupy his body, and thus consider him with whom they are, as a nobody. Such have many times been with me and attempted much; some [act] more mildly. They were, nevertheless, affected with shame, in various modes; for they think they see their faces in the glass, besides other things. Thus are spirits with drawn from that cupidity. - 1748, September 1.
3019. Quod quidam spiritus magnopere cupiant esse homines
Omnes 1
1748, 1 Sept.
