Those who sat in the cave's crooked entrances, who likewise were very numerous and acted as guards and took orders and passed them on and thus kept the common people in obedience, were afterwards thrown down and mixed in with the gentiles. Those also who worshiped idols and had no thought about God were cast into lakes and swamps toward the west. These are dealt with below [5258].
