Other Planets (New Century Edition 2020) 156

156. The spirits from that planet can be seen high up, at head level, toward the right. All spirits can be identified by their position relative to the human body. This is because heaven in its entirety corresponds to a human being in every detail. 1These spirits stay on that level and at that distance because they correspond not to outer features of a person but to inner ones. Their activity affects the left knee, above and a bit below, with a very noticeable trembling. This is an indication that they correspond to the joining together of what is earthly and what is heavenly.

Worlds in Space (Chadwick translation 1997) 156

156. The spirits of that world are to be seen up above on a level with the head, towards the right. All spirits can be told apart by their position relative to the human body. This happens because the whole of heaven corresponds in every part to a human being. 1The spirits remain at this level and distance, because their correspondence in not with a person's exteriors, but his interiors. They act upon the left knee, a little above and below the joint, imparting a kind of very noticeable vibration. This is a sign that they correspond to the linking of natural and celestial elements.

Footnotes:

1. Heaven has a correspondence to the Lord, and a human being has in every detail a correspondence to heaven, so that in the Lord's eyes heaven is a man on the grand scale, and may be called the Grand Man (Arcana Caelestia 2996, 2998, 3624-3649 [original adds 3636-3643], Arcana Caelestia 3741-3745, 4625). The whole subject of the correspondence of man and all his parts to the Grand Man who is heaven has been described from experience (Arcana Caelestia 3021, 3624-3649, 3741-3750 [3741 in original], Arcana Caelestia 3883-3896, 4039-4055 [4051 in original], Arcana Caelestia 4218-4228, 4318-4331, 4403-4421, 4523-4533 [from 4527 in original], Arcana Caelestia 4622-4633, 4652-4660, 4791-4805, 4931-4953, 5050-5061, 5171-5189, 5377-5396, 5552-5573, 5711-5727, 10030).

Earths in the Universe (Whitehead translation 1892) 156

156. The spirits of that earth appear above in the plane of the head, toward the right. All spirits are distinguished by their situation with respect to the human body; and this for the reason that the whole heaven corresponds to all things of man. 1These spirits keep themselves in that plane and at that distance because their correspondence is not with the externals in man, but with the interiors. Their action is into the left knee, above and a little below, with a certain very sensible vibration; which is a sign that they correspond to the conjunction of natural and heavenly things.

Footnotes:

1. Heaven corresponds to the Lord, and man as to each and all things corresponds to heaven, and hence heaven, before the Lord, is a man in a large effigy, and may be called the Greatest Man (Arcana Coelestia 2996, 2998, 3624-3649, 3636-3643, 3741-3745, 4625). Concerning the correspondence of man, and of all things pertaining to him, with the Greatest Man, which is heaven, in general, from experience (Arcana Coelestia 3021, 3624-3649, 3741-3751, 3883-3896, 4039-4051, 4218-4228, 4318-4331, 4403-4421, 4527-4533, 4622-4633, 4652-4660, 4791-4805, 4931-4953, 5050-5061, 5171-5189, 5377-5396, 5552-5573, 5711-5727, 10030).

De Telluribus in Mundo Nostro Solari 156 (original Latin)

156. Apparent spiritus illius Telluris superne in plano Capitis versus dextrum: omnes Spiritus dignoscuntur ex situ respective ad corpus humanum; quod fit, quia universum coelum correspondet omnibus 1;
